About Phaltronryxanord
A passionate team of photographers and educators based in the heart of Wellington, dedicated to sharing the art and craft of visual storytelling.
Our Story
Phaltronryxanord was founded with a simple vision: to make photography accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Based in Wellington's creative Te Aro precinct, we have grown from a single weekend workshop into a comprehensive learning platform for visual storytelling.
Our founders, passionate photographers with years of experience in editorial and documentary work, recognised that great photography is not about expensive equipment — it is about seeing the world with fresh eyes and having the skills to capture what you see.
Since our beginning, we have welcomed participants from across New Zealand and beyond, all united by a shared curiosity and love for imagery. Every workshop we run reflects our commitment to quality education and supportive learning environments.
What Drives Us
Accessibility
Photography should be inclusive. We welcome all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to our workshops without exception.
Creativity
We encourage participants to find their own visual voice rather than following rigid formulas. Your perspective matters.
Community
Learning is richer when shared. Our workshops foster meaningful connections between like-minded creative individuals.
How We Teach
Our teaching methodology centres on practical, hands-on learning. Every workshop combines brief knowledge-sharing segments with extended practical sessions where you apply what you have learned in real-world settings.
We keep our group sizes small — typically six to ten participants — to ensure everyone receives individual attention and constructive feedback. Our locations are carefully selected to offer diverse photographic opportunities, from Wellington's urban landscapes to its stunning natural surroundings.
Each instructor brings a unique style and speciality, ensuring that our participants receive well-rounded guidance. We continuously update our curriculum to reflect current trends and techniques in visual storytelling.
